POSITION: COMMERCIAL LINES PRODUCER

REPORTS TO: V.P. – COMMERCIAL LINES

PURPOSE: Production of new Commercial Lines business, providing businesses with highest quality products and services in the most consistent and efficient manner through teamwork and cooperation with all other Agency personnel.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Contact prospective clients and current clients to solicit new Commercial Lines sales.
2. Follow up on referrals from Individual and Employee Benefits advisors and producers, also outside referrals and any other prospect and expiration lists available.
3. Update any prospect and expiration lists for future reference.
4. Obtain all information necessary to provide quotation for requested coverages.
5. Complete quotation applications and submit to appropriate carriers.
6. Upon receipt of quotation from carrier, coordinate proposal with CSR and present recommendation to prospective client.
7. Upon close of sale, collect minimum of 25% of premium and order policies from applicable carrier.
8. Upon receipt of issued contracts, deliver to client, reviewing coverages and setting up payment schedule, if applicable. Follow up on any additional needs, reminding them of Agency’s other products.
9. Upon renewal, review all coverages with client, ensuring that all coverages are up-to-date and appropriate. Coordinate ordering of renewal policy with Commercial Lines Advisor.
10. Emphasize to each client the CSR that should be contacted when in need of service.
11. Coordinate collection of overdue accounts with bookkeeper.
12. Document all client contact and account activity as protection against E&O charges.
13. Communicate all account activity to the appropriate CSR to avoid duplication or lost information.
14. Maintain general service contacts throughout the year. Continue to encourage account rounding, utilizing other Agency personnel expertise, as needed.
15. Meet with insurance company representatives to stay up-to-date with all changes in policies or procedures in order to provide clients with appropriate information and coverages to fit their needs.
16. Attend scheduled department and Agency meetings to facilitate communication and teamwork.

MEASUREMENTS:

1. Contact a minimum of 20 prospective clients each day.
2. Complete all required information on quotation applications, alleviating delay in receipt of quotation from company.
3. Meet with each CSR to review problems and questions on a weekly basis.
4. Two months prior to renewal, review policy with client in order to have policy processed and delivered by renewal date.


REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed property and casualty insurance broker. Personable and professional in appearance and attitude.
